About us
Hi, there, we are Tal (31) and David (55) Timor, a father and daughter team. David is a successful businessman, and Tal a real-estate marketing and advertising person. Together with you, and thanks to the Corona pandemic, we are starting out on a new road together! Our product was born in the Timor family home in Nesher. My mother wanted a product that would answer her needs for clean countertops, sleek design, and convenience (so, thank you mom) before she would allow it her kitchen. We brainstormed and tried various approaches, built prototypes and fell flat on our faces, but eventually we were able to channel all our ideas into our final product! Today, we are proud to present to you our baby. We named it the SMOOVEE, and it works so well that we are excited to get busy and start producing it in volume. For this we come you to be our partners!
Our story, just like many other good stories, started in a small home in the north, in the city of Nesher: About three years ago, Iris, who, without a doubt is the mother, boss, and woman of the house, decided that David, her husband, needed to find her a solution to make cleaning under and around the stationary, small appliances on her kitchen counter easier. She also wanted to be able to move them out of the way while she was prepping for our meals and needed a clear work space.
Anyone who does not know David should understand that aside from being a cool dad and husband, as well as a successful businessman, he is first of all the “go-to” person when you need someone to think outside the box. Since childhood, he has been designing and building with great success, whether he was restoring antique cars, designing and landscaping gardens, building swimming pools with murals that you would not believe, constructing unusual pergolas and other outdoor shade solutions, in short, if you can dream it, he can do it. Remind him of all this, for he is proud of his golden hands, just as his family and community are proud of his ability to think outside the box. And so, David being David, took a piece of wood, finished it beautifully, attached wheels to it, and put my mother’s water kettle on it. Simple, no?! Iris saw what he had had built, and immediately sent David to make another one, this time, for the old coffeemaker.
The product’s advantages:
- It is sturdy- water resistant and strong enough to bear a load of up to 20 kg, about 35 lbs.
- Maintenance- it is easy to clean and the surface beneath it is readily accessible and easily cleaned as well.
- Movement- its wheels have a range of 360 degrees.
- Design- available in a number of colors to match any countertop.
- Convenience- it moves silently and has a built-in handle.
I think you all get, that David being David waited for the weekend, walked out into the garden, took another piece of wood, cut it into the right shape, glued it together, finished the wood neatly, and then started over to make it even more perfect (surprising, no?!). He was going to make Iris, the queen of his household, happy. So far it all sounds like one more routine week in the Timor family. But… There is always a but, when guests came and admire my mother’s clean and neat workspace, we had a brainstorm, for the one recurring question with every visit was, “Where can we buy this thing?” David and Iris are used to that, already, and considered where, indeed, people would buy such a cool thing.
And then Tal arrived. In those days she was at Haifa University, studying for her MA in strategic communications and public relations, and when she saw her father’s design, she got excited, and decided that it should be taken to the next level. First of all, could this product have commercial applications? Tal sat down and read, researched, did a market survey, and was surprised to discover that there so far no such product exists on the market. How could that be, we thought. From this moment one, our amazing journey together really took off. Materials, cost, packaging, production, marketing, and branding. Tal took the lead, guided and supervised by papa David every step of the way! Each of the four prototypes we produced were put into use in private kitchens or the workplace coffee corners. More than a hundred relatives, friends, business associates opened their counters to our prototypes.
